Pitbull Jungle LoopsReview: Pitbull Jungle Loops Note: This is part of the archived Sample Reviews from Sonikmatter's pre-'Professional' Past when times were simpler, and our goal was simply to note the highlights of a product and post our personal endorsement of it. This review is not to be taken as an example of of our current content. Having said that, I used the hell outta PJL at the time. ccm / 11/26/2002
Hell what can I say, its jungle, has lots of loops and several tempos (though we all know that tempo doesn't matter with a jungle loop as your supposed to mangle it into tempos they were never meant for) and lots of break out drums for the creation of your own loops or layering onto one of the preprovided ones. While suitable for this type of music, the breakout drums are mearly half second snippits of the the loops. Not going to find a realistic drum here and ya shouldn't try. I suggest isolating the drums yourself out of the loop it you want to use a particular sound. Not much variety, but then again would one ask for variety on a violin disc...its jungle, its good, its sometimes crunchy (I like crunchy). According to the liner notes, this thing is available in Akai format as well as audio, but who wants preprogrammed beats...get the audio version and save some $$$ as it will force ya to fuck with sound. Take this review for what it is...maybe I need some real junglist to review this, but I know several loops are going into my next alternopop song...the kiddies will dig that shit.
